Article 1: Scope of this Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice describes how the Temple collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information through the Services made available by the temple of harm reduction, a Nevada nonprofit corporation, and its affiliates, ministries, programs, and authorized representatives (collectively, the “Temple, “we,” “us,” or “our”). It also explains certain rights and choices you may have under applicable law.
The “Services” include our websites, online educational materials, harm reduction and spiritual resources, newsletters, community updates, donation tools, volunteer interest forms, event registration pages, contact forms, prayer request forms, and any other online products or services that link to or reference this Agreement.
The Temple’s Services are intended to support education, spiritual expression, advocacy, community engagement, and access to information relating to harm reduction and Sacred Life. Availability of specific features may change at any time.
This Privacy Notice applies to personal information collected online and, where indicated, offline in connection with the Services, communications, events, volunteer intake, donations, and related interactions.
Article 2: Categories of Personal Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with the Services, we may collect the following categories of personal information:
Identifiers and contact information, such as your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, social media handle, or similar identifiers.
Donation and transaction information, such as donation amount, billing details, payment status, recurring donation enrollment status, and transaction records. Payment card information is generally collected and processed by our third-party payment processors rather than stored directly by the Temple.
Communications and submission information, such as the content of contact forms, messages, prayer requests, support requests, volunteer applications, event registrations, survey responses, chat communications, and any other information you provide to us.
Internet or network activity information, such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, dates and times of visits, clicks, page interaction information, form interaction information, and interactions with our Services.
Geolocation information, such as approximate location inferred from your IP address.
Audio, electronic, or visual information, such as photographs, videos, recordings, or livestream participation details if you submit them to us or participate in events or features that involve them.
Professional or organizational information, such as employer, role, volunteer background, community affiliation, or partnership details if you choose to provide them.
Sensitive information, which may include information revealing religious or spiritual beliefs, information relating to health, disability, substance use, overdose history, harm reduction needs, demographic characteristics, or other sensitive data if you choose to provide it in forms, communications, event registrations, donation dedication messages, or support requests.
We collect only the personal information reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, except where additional information is voluntarily provided by you.
Article 3: Sources of Personal Information
We may collect personal information:
directly from you;
automatically when you use the Services;
from service providers and vendors that support our operations;
from donation processors, event platforms, analytics providers, communication tools, chat providers, form vendors, and fundraising or CRM platforms;
from social media platforms or third-party services when you interact with us through them or authorize them to share information with us; and
from publicly available sources, referral partners, or other individuals, to the extent permitted by law.
Article 4: How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information for the following purposes:
to provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services;
to respond to inquiries, prayer requests, resource requests, support messages, chat inquiries, and other communications;
to process donations, recurring gifts, send receipts and acknowledgments, maintain records, administer fundraising activities, and manage donor relationships;
to register you for events, trainings, volunteer opportunities, newsletters, or community activities;
to personalize your experience and tailor content, resources, and communications;
to communicate with you about the Temple, its mission, programs, events, updates, fundraising campaigns, and opportunities, subject to your rights and choices;
to monitor usage, analytics, trends, website performance, communication effectiveness, and Service functionality;
to protect the rights, safety, property, and security of individuals, the Temple, and the Services;
to investigate, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and unlawful activity;
to comply with legal obligations, lawful requests, court orders, and regulatory requirements; and
to establish, exercise, and defend legal claims.
Where required by law, we will rely on an appropriate legal basis for processing, such as consent, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, protection of vital interests, or our legitimate interests and mission-related purposes where not overridden by your rights.
Article 5: Sensitive Information
Because of the Temple’s mission and the nature of certain forms or communications, you may choose to provide sensitive personal information, including information about health, disability, substance use, overdose experiences, spiritual beliefs, or other sensitive matters.
We ask that you provide sensitive information only when necessary and appropriate. Where required by law, we will obtain consent before collecting, using, or disclosing sensitive personal information.
We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you for unrelated commercial profiling purposes. We use such information only for the purposes reasonably expected by you, disclosed in this Privacy Notice, consented to by you, or otherwise permitted by law.
Article 6: Session Replay, Chat Tools, and Similar Interaction Technologies
The Temple or its service providers may use tools that monitor or analyze how users interact with the Services, such as analytics tools, chat tools, event tracking, heatmaps, or session replay technologies. These tools may record or reconstruct information about page visits, clicks, navigation paths, device and browser information, and limited form interaction data.
Where required by law, the Temple will provide notice and obtain consent before using non-essential interaction-monitoring technologies. The Temple will seek to configure these tools to avoid collecting payment card information, credentials, or unnecessary sensitive information, and to limit access, retention, and downstream use.
Article 7: How We Disclose Personal Information
We may disclose personal information to:
service providers and contractors that perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, analytics, payment processing, donation processing, recurring billing support, email delivery, cloud storage, customer support, chat services, security, event management, fundraising support, CRM administration, and communications support;
advisors, auditors, accountants, insurers, and legal counsel;
government authorities, regulators, law enforcement, courts, and other parties where required or permitted by law;
parties involved in a merger, restructuring, financing, or transfer of assets involving all or part of the Temple’s operations, to the extent permitted by law; and
other parties with your direction or consent.
We may also disclose deidentified or aggregated information that does not reasonably identify you.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising except to the extent that certain analytics, social media, advertising, fundraising, or interaction-monitoring technologies on our Services may be deemed a “sale” or “sharing” under certain privacy laws. If we engage in such practices, we will provide any rights required by law.
Article 8: Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, including to provide the Services, maintain records, process donations, manage recurring gifts, comply with tax, accounting, and nonprofit recordkeeping obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the rights and safety of individuals and the Temple.
Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the information, the context in which it was collected, legal requirements, and operational needs.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
know whether we process your personal information and access that information;
request correction of inaccurate personal information;
request deletion of personal information;
obtain a portable copy of certain personal information;
opt out of certain targeted advertising, profiling, or sales/sharing as defined by law;
limit or withdraw consent for certain processing of sensitive personal information where consent is the basis for processing; and
appeal our decision regarding a privacy rights request, where applicable.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights available to you under applicable law.
Article 10: Marketing Communications
You may opt out of promotional emails by using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us. Even if you opt out of promotional communications, we may still send you transactional or relationship messages, such as donation receipts, recurring donation notices, event updates, or responses to your requests.
Article 11: Do Not Track and Similar Signals
Some browsers and extensions offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is not yet a universally accepted standard for responding to such signals, our Services may not respond to them.
If and to the extent required by applicable law, we will honor recognized opt-out preference signals for targeted advertising or sale/sharing of personal information.
Article 12: Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Article 13: International Users
The Services are intended for users in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction.
By using the Services or providing information to us, you understand and, where required by law, consent to those transfers.
Article 14: Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 18 without legally sufficient authorization.
If you believe we have collected personal information from a child in a manner not permitted by law, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to investigate and address the issue.
Article 15: External Links and Platforms
The Services may contain links to external websites, social media pages, embedded content, or third-party platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy, security, or data practices of third parties. Please review their applicable notices and terms.
Article 16: Changes to this Privacy Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version and update the Last Updated date. If required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent.
