Burning Man Harm Reduction

On-playa harm reduction presence at Burning Man. Drug checking, education, water, witness.

Burning Man is one of the largest gatherings in the country where people use a wide range of substances, often in unfamiliar combinations, under hard environmental conditions. People die there. People always have. Most of those deaths are preventable.

What we’re tending

An on-playa harm reduction presence. Drug checking. Education. Hydration. Calm spaces. Trained witnesses who know what to look for and how to respond. We work alongside the medical infrastructure, not in competition with it.

What we need

  • Burners with harm reduction training (or interest in being trained) who want to staff shifts
  • Veteran burners who can help us land the camp logistics correctly
  • Donors who can fund supplies, equipment, and camp infrastructure
  • Theme camps interested in partnering on harm reduction at their location
